In February 2019, rebar prices rose steadilydue to factors such as rising market operating rates and rising marketexpectations. The following features are specifically presented.

Rebar production increased slightly. With theend of the heating season, the steel mills will resume production. In the firsttwo months of 2019, China's rebar production was 33.82 million tons, anincrease of 2.413 million tons, an increase of 7.7%. It is expected that theoutput will increase slightly in March.

Rebar prices fluctuated. At the end ofFebruary, the prices of the eight major steel products monitored by the ChinaIron and Steel Association increased. The price of rebar (Φ16mm) was 3,869yuan/ton, up by 40 yuan/ton from the previous month, an increase of 1.0%. Pricesare expected to continue to rise in March.
