In the same month, Indian steel consumption was 8.339million tons, an increase of 9.4% over the same period of last year and anincrease of 9.2% from November last year.

In December 2018, India's steel imports were 548,000 tons,down 2.5% year-on-year and 6% quarter-on-quarter. “In December, India’s steelexports were 367,000 tons, down 61.9% year-on-year and 7.9%quarter-on-quarter,” the report said.
